Dr. John Westerdahl, PhD, MPH, RDN, CNS, FAND is a graduate of Loma Linda University School of Public Health. His Bachelor of Science, Master of Public Health, and Doctorate degrees are in the fields of food, nutrition, and health education.  He is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN), Certified Nutrition Specialist (CNS), Master Herbalist, Board Certified Anti-Aging Health Practitioner, Health Scientist, and Radio Talk Show Host.                                          

As a nutrition consultant, Dr. Westerdahl specializes in lifestyle medicine, anti-ageing, longevity, nutrigenomics, plant-based nutrition, and science-based nutritional supplementation. He previously served as a nutritionist for leading medical, wellness, and lifestyle medicine centers, spas, and for health and natural food companies. Dr. Westerdahl is a former assistant nutritionist to two-time, Nobel Prize winner, Dr. Linus Pauling at the Linus Pauling Institute of Science and Medicine. Dr. Westerdahl is a former Senior Nutritionist and Health Scientist for the Shaklee Corporation. His research led to the formulation of several Shaklee nutritional and herbal products. Dr. Forrest C. Shaklee inspired Dr. Westerdahl to study and pursue the fields of nutrition and health as his life career.

Dr. Westerdahl’s patients can have confidence in knowing that as their personal nutritionist, he has a passion and expert knowledge regarding Shaklee Nutrition. He can recommend an optimal diet and Shaklee nutritional supplement plan for your personal health and longevity. Specializing in Lifestyle Medicine Nutrition, Dr. Westerdahl can address specific health issues and concerns the patient may have, and if desired, can work in communication with the patient’s personal physician.

The Shaklee Nutritional Counseling Session includes: Nutrition analysis of your current eating pattern, complete consult with written recommendations and nutritional guidance, menus and recipes, suggested meal plan based on medical concerns and lifestyle needs, answers to your individual nutrition questions, recommendations regarding foods and Shaklee nutritional supplements. Includes up to 2 hours of preparation and analysis followed by I hour (50-minutes) in personal consultation.

Dr. Westerdahl requests that all Shaklee Nutrition Counseling clients complete the Shaklee Meology Assessment Questionnaire prior to their visit with him. He will add the Shaklee Meology report and recommendations to the additional health history, diet and lifestyle information, questionnaires, forms, and possible lab test results that he requests from Shaklee clients. This will allow Dr. Westerdahl to prepare a more comprehensive and in-depth nutritional assessment and evaluation. As a result, along with a recommended healthy diet and lifestyle plan, Dr. Westerdahl may recommend additional specific Shaklee supplements to the Meology recommendations.     

NOTE: DUE TO COVID-19, DR. WESTERDAHL IS NOT CURRENTLY DOING IN-PERSON OFFICE VISITS. ALL CONSULTATIONS ARE CONDUCTED BY TELEPHONE, EMAIL, AND VIDEOCONFERENCING THROUGH THE INTERNET (utilizing ZOOM).  DUE TO DR. WESTERDAHL’S SCHEDULE, HE CAN ONLY ACCOMIDATE A LIMITED NUMBER OF PATIENTS. IN SOME CASES, APPOINTMENTS MAY NEED TO BE MADE ONE TO TWO MONTHS IN ADVAVANCE. THIS ALLOWS TIME FOR DR. WESTERDAHL TO RECEIVE AND REVIEW ANY MEDICAL RECORDS AND/OR LAB TESTS NEEDED PRIOR TO HIS CONSULTATION WITH YOU.

In addition to his nutritional guidance addressing the patient’s lifestyle and medical concerns, Dr. Westerdahl will make recommendations for specific Shaklee dietary and nutritional supplements to complement the healthy diet plan he recommends.  All Shaklee dietary and nutritional supplements recommended by Dr. Westerdahl must be purchased by Shaklee Family Members (Customers, Members, Distributors, Sales Leaders) through their normal ways of purchasing Shaklee products.

Shaklee Nutritional Counseling clients referred to Dr. Westerdahl, will be verified by him as to their Shaklee status and position, and directed to purchase any recommended Shaklee products from their Independent Shaklee Distributor or through their Shaklee business upline organization.
